Talent Award 2011

Friday Paw Charlie Ravn won the Talent Award at Odense Film Festival 2011 for Two Friends. Congrats, Paw! With the prize comes 10.000 DKK and of course a big amount of glory!

The animation jury motivated the Talent Award with these words:

Despite the traditional style, this director succeeds in creating a personal and very innovative short, not least because of the unconventional choice of theme. The jury was led into a credible, strong and organic world, where both images and sound supported the beauty and danger and of the tale - a grim tale - that still leaves us with faith in humanity. The film shows the director's obvious talent to communicate, not only with animation, but also with the film language as such.

Jury: Michal Hegner (DK), Helena Frank (SE), Esben Jacobsen (DK)

Three new festivals for Two Friends!

Two Friends is going to have a busy summer. It will be shown at three festivals in North America and Denmark... all of them really great.

First it plays at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Quebec, Canada, in July. Fantasia's emphasis is on genre films from all over the world and is the biggest and most important event of its kind in North America with 100.000 spectators, so we are really thrilled.

In August we return to Denmark and to Odense Film Festival - Denmark's most important short film festival.

And finally in September Two Friends will play at Fantastic Fest i Austin, Texas, USA. This is the largest genre festival in the US and specializes in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action and "just plain fantastic movies from all around the world", as they claim. In years past they have presented the world premieres of THERE WILL BE BLOOD, APOCALYPTO & ZOMBIELAND. And now it's time for Two Friends - yeah!

And the winner is...

... Two Friends!

We won the Robert award for best short fiction under 25 minutes at Sunday's award ceremony. It was amazing - a big surprise and tremendously good vibes! We had a long and hard party and Monday morning was pretty tough. But now we are Danish Academy Award winners!

North American premiere and award!

Two Friends has been selected as one of five winners of the Student Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival 2010 which takes place from October 7 to October 11 in Hamptons, USA. We are very happy! Also, this will be our North American Premiere which is very exciting! We wish we could be there but unfortunately we are way too busy developing our next project...

Two Friends screens in the student competition where only five films from all over the world have been chosen as winners. The festival writes this about the student competition:

2010 marks the 18th successive year of the Hamptons International Film Festival Student Awards Shorts Program, which showcases spectacular work of student filmmakers from around the world. These five winners are recognized by the Festival for their talent and vision.
